GARDNER, GILLMORE, MCLEAN, SEAMAN, STORRS, TANNER I'm searching for the parents of my GG-Grandfather, Monroe Madison GARDNER, born 4/27/1822 at Sackets Harbor, Jefferson Co., NY. His 1st marriage was to Eliza Ann SEAMAN on 1/1/1848, Cuyahoga Co. Their children: Edward, Alfred (taken to live with relative during Civil War-no trace afterwards), and a baby boy whom died @ the same time as mother in 1851. His 2nd marriage was to Martha TANNER on 12/13/1852 in Litchfield, Medina Co. She was born 8/3/1833 in Tunbridge Wells, England, the daughter of Samuel Henry TANNER and Anna GILLMORE. Their children were: Clement GARDNER, born 9/27/1853, m. 10/19/1876 to Eva MCLEAN of Penfield, Lorain Co. & moved to Lockwood, Trumbull Co.; Sherman GARDNER, b. 2/5/1865; & Minnie Winifred GARDNER, b. 8/14/1866, m. 1/18/1888 to Edward Charles STORRS, d. 4/27/1925. Monroe M. GARDNER d. 3/4/1899 in Litchfield, OH and is buried in the Litchfield Cemetery. Looking for descendants or someone who may have knowledge of these families. Thank you for any help.

In the 1850 federal census for Medina Co., Litchfield Twp., a family is found: Peter MENGES 32 y carpenter b. PA Sarah MENGES 33 y b. PA Elizabeth MENGES 8 y b. OH Jonathan MENGES 6 y b. OH This family later moved to Steuben Co., IN. I am interested in finding some evidence of their being in Medina Co., other than the census. They may have been Lutheran. Sarah was Salome in Steuben Co.,IN Appreciate any assistance you could provide in this matter.

BRIGGS/KIRKPATRICK - I am researching a Samuel BRIGGS who may be the one living in Medina Co., Chatham Twp., in 1860. My gggrandfather Samuel BRIGGS was married to (first name unknown) KIRKPATRICK. They had a daughter, Sarah Maria BRIGGS, who was born in 1858. She married a William Jasper ATKINSON. Sarah ended up in Carroll County, IN.

My Jesse RIGGLE was b. 1791 of Pennsylvania and married in Medina County to Elizabeth "Unknown" were she had a family and died. He brought the family here in Wisconsin (Jefferson County).I come from the oldest son John. It was thought that Jesse had 2 other brothers, but not verified yet. Thank You

ANDERSON, William lived in Medina Co from ca 1823 to 1867. Married Prudence LADD in NH and came to Ohio. Children Elizabeth P, William Ira, James L, Susan and 3 children that died. James married Lucinda HEATH, William married Julia SPELLMAN, both remained in the area. Would like to contact any descendants.
