RIGGLE // REIGEL // RIEGEL, KOUNTZ // KUNTZ, CROSLAND The following names resided in Homer Township of 1850 census. The Riggle family was the " head " family, with the Kuntz and Croslands marrying into the Riggle family. The head Riggle was Jesse born about 1791 around Washington County, Penn., wife Elizabeth also born Penn., but last name unknown and place in Pennsylvania of her birth. Elizabeth is buried at your Vanderhoef Cemetery by herself - she is in row 3// death was 10 Jan 1854. WE believe they were Moravians, but cann't find her maiden name or parents. Jesse and family moved on to Wisconsin after her death. If there is someone there that can enlighten us, we would be greatful to the connection of Elizabeth's family. We are also searching for the death of a son-in-law and their daughter, Sarah Ann ( Riggle ) to her husband Harrison Kuntz // Koons, ( etc. )- his father was John Adam Kuntz.

My gggf, Archie CROOKS, lived in Granger Township. He passed on from typhoid ca 1895. I had been down to the Medina County Library, Franklin Sylvester Genealogy room, and I found the obit in the Gazette.
They mentioned that he was buried with "Full K. O. T. M." honors. I have Emailed Masonic information sources, but they do not know what the abbreviation means. Recently, I discovered a passage in a Medina history book that stated the lodge was "K. O. T. M. (Macabee)" if that helps. The obit mentioned that his funeral service was well represented by the Medina and Hinckley lodges, too.
I just wondered what kind of lodge it was, maybe a little background.
Incidentally, on my mom's side were ancestors who ended up being nearly the original founders of Granger. Before Archie Crooks was Jacob Spellman, and before him was John Wiard...and before that was John Wiard b. 1759. They are all resting in Fairview Cemetery, six generations back. Where Ohio 94 and I-271 intersect, right by the Remsen Corners sign (there is a Marathon gas station there now) was Jacob Spellman's property. I wouldn't have known this if it wasn't for the genealogy room there at the library!
Thanks so much, Brian (Wiard...Spellman...Crooks...Lockyer...Kamps...) Wozny

I have posted before the MCINTYRE surname for Medina Co. Ohio. I am now trying to locate any WAIT/WAITE surname researchers. Right now the only concrete data that I have is a Martha WAIT b. ca 1815. Do not have any names for parents or siblings at this time. Martha married Uzel Barker MCINTYRE on the 3 October 1830 in Hinckley, Medina Co. Ohio.
In cemtery records that I found I find the following names buried in the same area as Martha and her husband Uzel. Henry M. WAIT b. June 20, 1882, Horace WAIT 1809-1866, Tamor A. w 1814-1901, Melanchton 1846-1848, Clark W. 1843-1858, Benjamin 1771-1861, Po! lly (Mott) w 1773-1862. Right near is MCINTRYE: William M. USArmy October 16, 1861, Emeline w April 11, 1823-27y, U.B. (Uzel Barker) Jan 25, 1885>80yr, and Martha w (Wait) Dec. 31, 1885 70y 4m (Uzel and Martha are my husband's direct lines)
By the looks of this I am beginning to think that Benjamin and Polly might have been Martha's parents. In another reference there is reference to a Erasmus WAITE who resided in Hinckley. His parents were listed as Benjamin and Polly (Mott) WAITE.
I am now in the process of trying to connect these people to my Martha WAIT MCINTYRE. Is there anyone out there with knowledge of these WAIT/WAITE surnames? If so I would like to correspond with you. Acording to the article, Erasmus had sisters who were m! arried and residing in the Hinckley area. These people were orgininally from Massachusetts before coming to Medina Co. Ohio.
Please contact me at jadean46@aol.com Thank you for any help that might be provided.
