Hi Maggie-
Love your site, beautiful colors! Hope you can help me out with your simple free surname hunt. I've been beating my head against the wall for Samuel Dollamore for 3 years or more, so I'm hoping you can help me out. He's my gg grandfather who came over from England and I'm hoping to find SOMETHING SOMEWHERE that will clue me in where EXACTLY in England he came from. I know where he's buried but there is no date of birth on the tombstone. He died December 26, 1898. (What newspaper do you think may have carried his obituarary?).Married into the Marsh family in Medina County, Liverpool Township in Ohio and buried at Myrtle Hill Cemetary. His wife's name was Mary Marsh (maiden name). Thank YOU!! ahead of time for any help you can give me with Samuel!!!

I'm looking for Seth Allen and Octavia Fairbanks marriage probably in Cuyahoga Co. early 1800's. Hoping tha Seth Allen is a brother to my Elizabeth Allen that married James McClintock Viers in 1816 in Medina Co. (later Summit)

Octavia had step-sister Mary Rice and brothers named Fairbanks.

Octavia Allen went on to marry James Viers when Eliza died in 1852 or 1853.

Anyone connected to this family?

My GGGrandmother was Maria A. CLARK. She was married February 24, 1872 to Andrew BROWN so I figure her birth date would be around 1850 which is when her husband was born. She had her first son December 25, 1872 in Black Hawk County, Iowa. They later moved on to Nebraska. Would love to connect with other researchers and exchange info.

I'm trying to find out if there's any info out there on immigration records in Ohio. Two of my relatives, and probably several others immigrated directly into Ohio, one from Canada and the other from Germany. I'm totally lost in trying to find out the specifics. Joseph KOLB (1806-1885) arrived and settled in Liverpool, Medina County, in 1833, coming from Germany. Joseph's wife, Catherine HILE (1818-1877) , also came from Germany, but I don't know when. Oliver MARTIN (1830-1895) arrived in the state (I don't know where) in 1834 with his parents, Francis (1800-??) and Angeline Deyfayette Martin (1803-??). They moved from Nova Scotia. Do you know if there are such records available, and if there are, how I would go about accessing them?

Thanks so much for your time. I hope you can help me. I'm in Colorado now and it's tough finding stuff in Ohio. Since almost 100% of my relatives were there early on, I probably just need to move back there and hunt in earnest.

My email is Jkkolb@aol.com

Children of Erving Farnsworth and Harriet are:

2 i. Mary Farnsworth (Source: 1850 Ohio Federal Census for Medina County.), born 1833 in Pennsylvania.

Notes for Guy C. Farnsworth:
From the History of Butler and Bremer Counties, Iowa - 1883
The present postmaster of Denver post office-Guy Farnsworth-was born in the State of Pennsylvania, in 1837. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Cleveland, Ohio, and later to Liverpool, Medina county, where Guy obtained his education. He first attended the common schools and then spent two terms at Baldwin's Institute, Barea, Ohio. Upon leaving school, he learned the machinists' trade of his father, and followed this occupation at different points until 1857, when he came to Bremer County, landing in Janesville on the 15th day of September. On the 14th day of December (same year), he entered the employ of Holmes, Kelly & Kay, who, at the time were building a steam sawmill, remaining with this company, working at his trade, until 1861. During the fall of that year he opened a blacksmith shop, in a building erected by himself for that purpose. In September, 1862, he enlisted in Company B, 14th Iowa Infantry, and served until honorably discharged in December, 1865. Upon receiving his dismissal from service, he returned to Jefferson city, and engaged in his present business. He was united in wedlock June 6, 1866, to Miss Elizabeth McHenry, who was born in Indiana. Four children have blessed this union, three of whom are now living. Mr. Farnsworth is a member of the Liberal League of Northern Iowa, In the year 1877 he was appointed postmaster of Denver postoffice, and still holds that office with great credit.

Guy's exact place of birth is not clear. His Declaration for Pension states that he was born in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania but his obituary says that he was born near Erie, Pennsylvania.

Hi, I hope that I have come to the right source. I'm trying to find information on my great-great grandfather Israel BAUGHMAN born Nov 30 1832 I believe in Medina County, OH. Probably in the early 1850's he married Sabina (No surname). They had one child born in Ohio in 1856. Sometime between 1856 and 1859 they moved to Christian County, IL. I was trying to find who Israel's parents were and Sabina's last name. I'm just starting on my Ancestry search, so any information that you might be able to provide, or where I may find it would be appreciated. Thank You. Elmo Baughman

I have recently inherited a photo album that once belonged to my 2nd great grandmother Milia STREETER (Mrs. William CASE). It contains photographs of Elvira BURNHAM and her husband Theodore TEEPLE. Written on the back of Elvira's photo is "Mrs. Elvira L. BURNHAM TEEPLE - born Apr. 26, 1841 died Sep., 1862 married 1860 all in Chatham, Ohio." The information on the back of Theodore's photo is "Mr. Theodore TEEPLE". I am interested in finding out about the families of these two individuals.
